Why do you offer insurance services, as they are not your core business?
It is true that insurance services are not the core business of the tourism industry. We offer travel insurance for your convenience, so that you can get the comprehensive support for your travel on one website. Our task, as we see it, is to to simplify your access to the products developed by the insurance companies. Your responsibility, if you decide to use the service, is to study the terms and conditions of travel insurance, and choose an insurance company and an insurance program that best suit your needs.
Do you have to register as an insurance intermediary in the Financial and Capital Market Commission?
Since the activities of the Agency corresponds to the criteria specified in Article 7 of the law "Activities of Insurance and Reinsurance Intermediaries Law", it has the right not to register in the Finance and Capital Market Commission as an insurance intermediary.
What is your role in the provision of travel insurance services?
Two situations are possible:
- Travel insurance is offered by the the tour operator as an additional service of the tour. In this case, the terms and conditions of the tour operator apply, the summary of which is presented in the description of the tour, usually in the "Additional Information" section. As a rule, in this case you will not have the possibility to select an insurance company and an insurance program.
- The Agency acts a partner of insurance companies, it distributes the products developed by them. The Agency operates within the framework provided by the insurance company. This service is available through the top menu bar "Insurance" or while sending the application and purchase of the tour. In this case, you will have a choice of the insurance company and the insurance program.
Agency is not responsible for the services provided by the insurance companies and placed information about these services as well as do not represent them and does not undertake any guarantee (direct and indirect) for the proper provision and quality of the services as well as for the technical handling of the service. You are fully responsible for the evaluation of the information provided and for the respective decision to use or not to use the services.
How can I buy a travel insurance from you?
This is possible in three ways:
- To buy travel insurance as an additional service to the tour in accordance with the terms and conditions of the tour operator, the summary of which is given in the description of the tour, usually under the "Additional Information" section.
- To buy travel insurance using an online service on www.demareadmare.lv or www.demareadmare.eu website. Payment is made online, it provides the insurance company.
- At your request the Agency prepares for you an insurance policy in accordance with the terms and conditions of the insurance company. Payment is made to the Agency based on the invoice.
In the first case, a contractual relationship with the insurance company arises under the mediation of the tour operator. In the second and third case, you become a party of a legally binding contractual relationship with the appropriate insurance company in direct way.
Does the Agency assumes any commitment to clarify the conditions of the insurance companies and to provide information about the insurance?
No, the Agency provides you with the opportunity to buy an insurance policy under the rules and conditions of the insurance company. We provide you with the opportunity to choose a suitable insurance company and the insurance program, however we abstain from any action which would have an impact on your choice.
Your duty is to read the terms and conditions of the insurance company prior to ordering the service. The phrase "terms and conditions" not exclusively refers to the document with the appropriate name, but also to any other important information that is available on the website of the insurance company, including the procedure and requirements in case of an accident, your responsibilities in that situation and other applicable requirements. Please note that failure to comply with these requirements may result in the restriction or loss of your rights to receive insurance compensation.
You assume full responsibility for the completeness, accuracy and reliability of the information submitted during the purchase of an insurance policy as well as for the proper understanding of its meaning in accordance with the terms and conditions of the insurance company. Agency in any case does not undertake any responsibility to check this information and is not responsible for the consequences, if you submit false and / or inaccurate information.
