Information about using of payment cards
In most cases, credit card details will be requested to confirm your reservation with the hotel, on your behalf. Your credit card may be checked (pre-authorised) to ensure that it is valid and/or that sufficient funds are available.
In some cases, your credit card details will be used to process the payment for the reservation at the time of booking. Your credit card will only be charged if you have requested a pre-paid room or if the cancellation policy has not been followed.
A valid credit card is needed to guarantee your reservation with most hotels. You can also make a booking using someone else’s card provided you have their permission. In this case please confirm the card holder’s name and that you have permission to use their card, in the ‘Special Requests’ box when making your booking.
Generally hotels cannot accept a debit card to guarantee a booking. However, there are some exceptions. If your chosen hotel can accept a debit card, you will see this option when making your booking.
We strongly advise you to store the documents certifying the payment of at least 6 months after return from the trip to ensure a documented evidence for an exceptional case if a write-off occurs from your credit card for the room already paid for at the hotel. In this case, you will need to submit a claim to the card-issuing bank, which will take all the necessary steps to return the amount written off twice.
Please check the terms and conditions of the Service providers as well as the information provided on their websites for the explanations concerning the safety of the settlements using the payment cards, the risk of unauthorized or fraudulent use of payment cards and the actions in such cases.
